DC chargers are fast chargers which charge an EV in less than an hour.
- CSS connector: Cars like Volkswagon and BMW are energized with CSS connector.
- GBT connector: Tata and Mahindra Electric cars and many Electric buses uses GBT connector to gear up.
- CHAdeMO is a DC charging standard for electric vehicles. It enables seamless communication between the car and the charger. It is developed by CHAdeMO Association, which is also tasked with certification, ensuring compatibility between the car and the charger.
- DC fast charging is essential for high mileage/long distance driving and large fleets.
